Purpose of this Ministry The usher’s ministry greets people warmly before Mass, to introduce strangers, to help people sit together, to pass out worship aids when necessary, to care for any needs (if someone gets sick, or other emergencies), to take up the collection, to help with good order at communion, to distribute bulletins and other handout materials in the course of saying goodbye to everyone after the Mass. Organizing and assisting with the parishioners during the progression of Mass. Seating parishioners and assisting those with special needs. Skills Needed The desire to be of service to your fellow parishioners and have a pleasant personality. Time Commitment Approximately 1½ hours on assigned Saturday evenings/Sunday mornings, with additional help needed during Holy Days.
